Automotive felts

Production of acoustic felts

Dakotex 2000 resin bonded textile felts can be used as acoustic insulation materials mainly for the automotive industry but also in the white industry for household appliances such as washing machines.

Examples of acoustic insulation parts are: hood insulation, dashboard insulation, wheel arch, headliners, parcel shelves, seatback nonwovens, floor felts, floor carpets, door panels, luggage carpets and luggage felts.

The final properties of the resinated felt, such as the mechanical strength and stiffness, the damping behavior as well as the environmental impact, are usually determined by the type of Dakotex 2000 resin used, as well as the composition of the felt and often the processing parameters of the manufacturing process.
